Letters to Octavio Barreda, 1943-1949.

Ten letters written by Mexican poet, essayist, and Nobel Prize Laureate, Octavio Paz to Mexican writer Octavio Barreda. Paz wrote these letters from Berkeley, Calif. while on a Guggenheim Fellowship, and from New York and Paris during his time as a Mexican diplomat. In these letters Paz critiques editions of El Hijo ProĢdigo, the Mexican literary magazine published by Barreda from 1943-1946, and refers to his own writing as well as various other writers' works.
